Question about single parents dating?

I am a single mother of 3 and I am 30. My ex fiance, as of last night, is a father of 2. His girls are teenagers, my kids are 7, 4, and 2. He left because I told him that if his 16 year old was going to live with me then she would talk to me and my children in a respectful manner. That she had no business bossing my children around, I am there mother. And I mean, this girl is very disrespectful, she went up to the jewelry counter after I purposely lost her to buy his engagement ring on fathers day, and asked how much it costed just as an example. She is just rude constantly. Anyhow, I love him, but he left me, but, was I wrong? Also, I said that it is not healthy for her to lock herself up in her room constantly. And I don’t think it is. I think he should be a father to her. The girl never smiles. I don’t know, was I wrong for demanding that? That she speak to me in a respectful manner? Is that to much to ask?

Question for the single ladies?

I am in a late 20s crisis so to speak. I realize that I’ve posted many questions on here regarding this topic, I’m definitely not crazy, and I am just trying to seek advice and input on this very important and personal life situation. I am currently trying to meet someone through online dating and I put on my profile that I am 27, am currently attending college, and am trying to get my life in order since I had no choice but to go into the Marines when I was 18 since my parents were divorced and would not help me to go to college (i.e. they didn’t / wouldn’t help me financially or otherwise). Do most women think that I am a loser since I don’t already have a degree, job, etc at the age of 27. I was under the impression that military veterans were supported in the U.S. (except in or around military towns). Also, one last thing, I think that it scares some women off when I am honest in saying that I didn’t have a chance to date anyone while I was in the Marines since there weren’t any single women in Jacksonville, N.C. and also due to the fact that the civilian populace didn’t like Marines in their towns in other eastern N.C. cities. In fact, I had a few friends that were not let into nightclubs in that part of the state just because they were Marines (short haircut) and it was assumed that they would start trouble. Just wanted to see what you guys think while I am trying to straighten out my life. Thanks All!

Question for police officers dating single custodial parents?

If your boyfriend/girlfriend whom you are madly in love with opened his/her heart out about his/her tumultous marriage, and tells you about the ex-spouse not paying child support (sometimes crying in the case of the mothers,) how would you react? Has this ever happened to you? How did you feel? What did you do about it?

And how determined and how far would you go to track down the deadbeat non-custodial parent, and demand that he/she pay up, or you will take him/her to jail yourself?

Question about single parents and dating?

Is it possible to have a relationship with a man that is more than “friends with benifits” but not quite “step-father of my children” when you are a single mother? How do i go about finding the middle ground?

I do not want a step father for my kids. My kids have a father and i dont want any man i date to think he has to step up to the plate. But i want more than someone there just for sex. I want someone to hold me and kiss me and tell me they love me and buy my flowers and do that thing where our forheads touch…and thoes sighs of contentment.. can i have that without them being put in the step father role?
I made the mistake of letting a man meet my kids once. He was introduced as my friend and i had a few other friends over for dinner that same month so it wouldnt be so weird for the kids and they would believe me that he was a friend. We were dating for about 8 months. He freaked out and told me over the phone that he didnt want to be a father and that was the end of that.

I know my ex’s girlfriend is in the step mom role. My kids tell me she puts them to bed and she plays with them and she reads them bedtime stories and makes them meals. I dont mind it as much because i think the more people who love my children, the better off they will be. As long as they are following my rules. The second she steps up and tells me how to raise my children is when i will make her bleed.

I am seeing this guy now who holds my hand and kisses me and all that romantic stuff. Its been about a month. I wouldnt introduce him to my kids for about a year but i am afraid.
of getting too close to him and then him meeting my kids and saying “whoa, too much.. see ya”

Question on Being a single mom and dating?

Ok I just turned 24, my ex fiance of 6 years and father to my 17 month old daughter have recently broken up (3 months ago) I live at home with my parents and nothing is more ackward, or makes a person feel more like a failure when not only their long term relationship ends and now have to pack up and head back to mom’s with “more baggage”…. Its been so long since I’ve dated, and to be honest I didnt even date much before I met my ex. I might of had 2 or 3 boyfriends even so it was highschool kid stuff ya know? So here I am, an adult now and I feel so out of place when it comes to talking to guys. I dont know where to go to meet them, I dont know how to flirt anymore, I work 10 hour days and by the time I get home, I feed the baby, give her a bath, play with her…and then lay her down so I can shower and rest. I’m always so tired, and its starting to get to me… It makes me miss my ex even though I dont want to be with him. I’ve been reading on the net and hearing from friends that most guys will not go near a single mom with a ten foot pole. *baby daddy drama*, not having time to go out and have fun on a drop of a dime like a single woman could, Ect. Another thing that worries me, now that I have a child, I dont trust anyone. How can I date a guy without worrying about him hurting me or my child when Im not around?? Maybe I watch to much news, but it does happen. and I am against dating online, my motto is If I didnt mean you in real life it wasnt meant for me to meet you at all… so how do single moms get out and date again??
