The post about single dads.. Heres mine…?

I joined because of a users post, which I thought was really informative.

He posted about being a single dad, Im also in His shoes.
I am a single dad, but by choice my daughter is turning 3 soon. Her mother picked a life of drugs and partying and chooses also not to be a part of her daughters life, The last time Her mother saw her she was 1 years old, drunk turned up at her birthday party till i had to tell her to leave.

I work also, Bar manager. If the dude reads my post I want to tell him to stay strong, Its hard being a father and a mother also, today ive already been shopping for ballet clothes because shes starting classes, Her choice :P

Dating is hard, I havent been dating since her mother left. It gets really lonely.
Which is why I posted to meet new people who are in the same situation or people who just want to talk and lend an ear.

I once considerd online dating but then thought am i really going to gain anything in online dating, Im still not sure.

Alot of chats single parents are now filled with bots.

It really is hard, Trying to juggle life. Being a father and a mother while still trying to remain half normal and get up and do things for yourself while my daughter is at play school. Trying to find time to myself because we all need it without it we would go a little crazy.

Wow…just wow. I think its great that you taking on the responsibility to raise your daughter by yourself. What an awesome person you much be! Don’t worry about finding a woman..Im sure you will have no problems if you make yourself available. Good luck-you are going to need it during her teen years!!

Good for you. I have several friends that did this as well, for the same reasons, and actually my husband did when he was younger ( I have step children) for the same reason. We had problems with the bio mom for years, thank God the kids are nearly grown now and see what’s up with her, it was a real struggle at times. You have your whole life ahead of you, the right woman will come along who sees your heart and what a good person you are.

I just want to say it sounds like your doing a fantastic job. Parenting is hard. You lose a sense of self and have to regain it back as your child grows older. It is especially hard to find that alone or “me” time when your children are babies or toddlers. Even us married couples struggle with that. But at the end of every day you can look at your beautiful little girl and say “I did that for her”. You are already 10 steps ahead of many dads. Cut yourself a little slack and enjoy these years with her. A woman will come when its the right time. Right now it doesn’t sound like you have the time for a relationship.

Here on Y/A most of us are willing to lend an ear and a little advice. Be wary of the trolls and I hope you find the people yu are looking for.

You are very inspiring. Stay strong. I’m a mother raising my son with the father and it’s still hard. So i know it must be hard as a single parent with no help at all. You will date. Don’t worry. That part is always a little slow at first, but one day, when you arent thinking about it at all, you’ll meet a very nice woman who will be very supportive of your situation. You will see.

i say A+ dad. it takes a lot of work to raise a child especially alone and it’s really cool that you as a father have stepped up to the plate. and seem to be doing a very good job. it’s nice of you to share what you’re going through with others for support.

hey just wanna say that its nice to see other young dads that man up im also 22 and have a 3 yr old boy who meens everything to me im single to and its hard to date i never wanna bring girls around my kid but girls always wanna meet him right away i think once the right girl comes along it will be fine just keep your head up and keep being an awsome dad

Finally! Some other dads on here lol. I was a single dad for a while i just recently got engaged, but i feel your pain bro. My daughter is also three years old and her mom actually also did the exact same thing…get into drugs and stuff…thats really weird. Since then i’ve adopted two boys and like i said i’m engaged to a good girl who is helping raise them. You dont need to do onlinedating (unless your hideous or something) lol i’m engaged to my childhood sweetheart and i dated plenty of good girls in my area in person…dont do online dating lol its not safe. Join a co-ed sport team, join a club, a parents group…i think these days theres more single parents than ever. Just wanted to say good luck to you, i know how hard it can be.
